Behaviours and Collaboration within the Built Environment was the subject of our most recent event. With the challenges we are facing with COVID 19 - we decided to continue with the event but virtually.

Craig Hardingham – Chair UKBIMA East
Craig is Consultant for Evolve Consultancy with 20+ years’ experience working within the AEC industry specialising in civil and structural engineering. This experience provides key understanding when reviewing company workflows and aligning them with BIM standards and industry best practices.
His passion for technology and collaboration has led Craig to developing a number of digital workflows between BIM authoring tools. The design and coordination of a £76m Energy from Waste project was enhanced through seamless data exchange of the geometric and analytical models
between disparate authoring and analysis tools.
Craig has tested and documented the exchange of model information between multiple systems including Revit, ArchiCAD and Tekla Structural Designer enabling the architectural and structural engineering teams to exchange models confidently at all project stages.
Alex is the BIM Manager at Smith and Wallwork with over fourteen years of experience in the industry. His knowledge of various CAD software platforms ensures smooth interoperability between disciplines.
Alex is an expert at using the latest 3D CAD and BIM techniques to exchange information with the design team and contractors. He has a broad ranging experience from specialist timber structures through to complex geometry and highly serviced buildings.
Emma is a BIM Manager at Wates and is responsible for the development and implementation of BIM and digital construction across the Northern Home Counties. She is also a core member of the Wates BIM team, developing group wide strategy, procedures and protocols and sharing lessons learnt and best practice across the wider business.
Emma has 10 years’ industry experience, working with main contractors in both buildings and infrastructure. Emma began her life in the construction industry working in CAD, moving into Architectural design and finally BIM and digital construction, where her passion lies.
Karl joined Graphisoft as BIM Consultant in 2017, to help customers improve their workflows and use ARCHICAD more effectively; to provide detailed customer insight to Graphisoft product development teams, ensuring that software solutions meet the market needs; and to build closer links with universities and colleges.
An architectural technologist by training, Karl has a passion for buildings and the built environment; he always looks for ways to innovate, developing systems and procedures to mitigate risks, improve quality and drive efficiency.
An advocate of Open BIM, Karl strives to bring design and construction teams closer together, by facilitating more effective collaboration and communication to deliver improved building assets
Bryn is an Architect with over 20 years industry experience, including BIM and CAD management. A freelance BIM consultant and also BIM Manager at Chaplin Farrant Architects. His passion is organisational BIM strategy and change management focusing on implementation.
Also, studying for the final thesis year of a part-time MSc in BIM Management at Middlesex University.
Andy is responsible for the implementation of BIM within Kier Construction Eastern and leads the BIM team across the wider Building UK business for digital strategy, documentation and governance.
With over 15 years’ industry experience in various engineering and management roles for both consultants and contractors, Andy applies his engineering and construction knowledge to the new digital ways of working at a practical level. He is also a firm believer in the ‘human’ side of BIM, promoting integrated team relationships and improved communication.
Andy is a BRE BIM Level 2 Certified Practitioner, holds EngTech LCIBSE professional membership and sits on the UK BIM Alliance engagement team.
Pam Bhandal is the founder/director of PB Marketing Consultants, working as a freelance marketing consultant with a number of different companies both within and outside the AECO/built industry.
Pam started her marketing career within the Education Software industry. Her first foray into marketing was promoting educational software to secondary schools followed by 13 years of working within the automotive, manufacturing, the Built Environment industry and the film and games industries.
Alongside her consultancy work Pam is a member of the Executive Team at the UK BIM Alliance (UKBIMA) taking on the Engagement Co-Lead role. As part of this role Pam works with the UKBIMA Communities Group, the Affiliates team, Ambassadors, Patrons and the UKBIMA Technology Group. Pam can normally be seen representing the UKBIMA at events across the UK.
